Gas fitting in Newcastle — safe, licensed, certified.

Gas is not a DIY job. Our NSW-licensed gas fitters handle leak detection, cooktop and heater installs, gas hot water, and new gas lines across Newcastle and the Hunter — all to AS/NZS 5601, with a Certificate of Compliance. Smell gas? Turn it off at the meter and call. We treat it as an emergency.

Gas work done the only way that is safe — properly.

Smell gas? Here is what to do right now.

Turn the gas off at the meter or bottle. Do not touch electrical switches or use a phone right at the source, put out any naked flames, and open up the house to ventilate. If the smell is strong, get everyone outside. Then call us — we respond to gas leaks around the clock. If anyone feels unwell, call emergency services first.

Gas leak detection & repair.

We locate gas leaks with proper testing — pressure-testing the line and tracing fittings and appliances — rather than guessing. Once found, we repair or replace the faulty section and re-test the system to confirm it holds before we sign it off. There is no acceptable shortcut on a gas leak, full stop.

Installs & changeovers.

We install and change over a full range of gas work:

  • Gas cooktops, ovens and upright stoves
  • Gas hot water connection (storage and continuous-flow)
  • Gas space heaters and wall furnaces — install and service
  • New gas points, gas lines and bayonet fittings for portable heaters
  • LPG to natural gas conversions
  • Gas appliance safety checks

Licensing — and why it is not negotiable.

In NSW it is illegal to do gas fitting work without a current NSW Fair Trading licence, and gas work is regulated under the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017. Unlicensed or shortcut gas work risks carbon monoxide, fire and explosion — it is genuinely dangerous. We work strictly to AS/NZS 5601, the Australian Standard for gas installations. Always ask any gas fitter for their licence number before they touch your gas.

Certificates of Compliance & BCNSW eCert.

For new gas installations and significant gas work you should receive a gas Certificate of Compliance — the licensed fitter’s formal statement that the work meets AS/NZS 5601 and is safe to use. It matters for your insurance and when you sell. We issue one on every applicable job and, from 1 March 2026, lodge it through the BCNSW eCert system as NSW now requires.

A gas leak is always an emergency — call us any hour. Replacing a gas hot water unit? We handle the gas side and the plumbing together. We cover New Lambton and the whole Hunter.
